Mod:Stick a thread
From BLWiki
Definition: A "sticky" thread is one which stays atop the forum regardless of how the forum threads are sorted (typically by last reply date as the default). Sticky threads are ideally key information sources for the forum such as forum guidelines, indexes, or currently hot topics for member discussion. A forum should take care that they do not have too many sticky threads so as to induce a glazing over and having them go unnoticed by the members.
There are two ways in which you can stick a thread. The first is within the thread itself, the second is via the forum display screen.
Method 1:
- Click on "Thread Tools"
- Select the "Stick Thread" radio button
- Click "Perform Action"
- The system will then give you a confirmatory message. The thread is now stuck and can be seen as such on the forum display screen.
Method 2:
- On the forum display page, select the thread you wish to stick by clicking the tickbox on the far right-hand side.
- Now click the "Moderation" menu at the bottom of the screen (you may have to scroll down the page in order to find it).
- Click on "Stick Threads".
- The "Go" button should now display the number of threads that have been selected. Click "Go" and the thread will be stuck.
