Mod:Unapprove a thread
From BLWiki
Definition: An unapproved (UA'd) thread is one that becomes hidden from public view. The only persons who can view the thread at that time are the appropriate forum moderators and all of senior staff. This is effective for holding moderator in-forum discussions with a level of privacy.
There are two methods of unapproving a thread. The preferred method is via the forum display page.
Method 1:
- On the forum display page, select the thread you wish to unapprove by clicking the tickbox on the far right-hand side.
- Now click the "Moderation" menu at the bottom of the screen (you may have to scroll down the page in order to find it).
- Click on "Unapprove Threads".
- The "Go" button should now display the number of threads that have been selected. Click "Go" and the thread will be unapproved.
- The thread will be removed from public view, and will now have the word "moderated" before it's title. That prefix to the title indicates that the entire thread is not publicly viewable.
- The small orange/blue icon on the right of the thread's title indicates that a certain number of posts within the thread have been unapproved (hover the cursor over it to find out).
Method 2:
- It is also currently possible to unapprove a thread by unapproving the first post within the thread itself. The rest of the thread will therefore default to unapproved status.
